Bothwould be a bit dated as primary machines in my opinion, but probably are fine for basic usage. While the T420 is a popular model I'd probably get the T440p as it'd last you longer. MyLenovo ThinkPad T420 runs games great, most of the time. I have the 4200M 1GB variant with the i5-2520M. When nothing is going on in CS:GO I get higher framerates than I'd expected, about 40-60 FPS. But any particle effects drop me down to like 12. Which I thought was weird considering the good performance everywhere else?
Thisis not the Lenovo Thinkpad T420. You can Tell by the RAM memory Slot Cover and the Position the RAM is put into its slot. the T420 RAM is Vertical Compared with being Horizontal in this Picture. that includes the cover also. Then the Battery Slot is a Dead Giveaway clue.
T420is the same process, just a different BIOS file. Hard part is finding the modified BIOS file because a lot of links are dead. The difficulty is in the next 3rd generation X230/T430/T530, where you need 1vyrain + lower BIOS version for a vulnerability to flash a modified BIOS.
